Frequently Asked Questions

Is employer NPS deductible in the New Tax Regime?

Yes. Eligible employer contribution under Section 80CCD(2) is deductible. For FY 2026-27, the New Regime limit is 14% of salary (Basic + DA) for all employer categories.

What if my employer contributes more than 14% of Basic + DA?

The calculator limits the 80CCD(2) deduction to 14% of the Basic + DA amount you enter and shows the actual contribution, maximum eligible amount and deduction considered separately.

Can I claim my own NPS contribution here?

No. This field is specifically for eligible employer NPS under 80CCD(2). Employee/self NPS deductions under 80CCD(1) and 80CCD(1B) are not modelled as New Regime deductions here.

What is the Section 87A rebate for AY 2027-28?

Eligible resident individuals under the New Regime can receive a rebate of up to ₹60,000 when taxable income does not exceed ₹12 lakh, with marginal relief available just above the threshold where applicable.
