Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the calculator have statutory-ceiling and actual-wage modes?
EPFO guidance distinguishes the ₹15,000 monthly wage ceiling from permitted higher-wage PF contribution situations. The two modes let you model what your employer actually uses instead of assuming every employee contributes on full Basic + DA.
Why isn't the employer's full 12% shown inside my EPF corpus?
For an EPS-eligible member, part of the employer contribution is diverted to EPS subject to the applicable pension-wage ceiling. The calculator therefore separates employer EPF and EPS rather than treating the entire employer contribution as EPF savings.
What is VPF?
Voluntary Provident Fund is an additional employee contribution above the normal statutory employee share. The employer does not have to match the extra VPF amount.
Is 8.25% guaranteed for all future years?
No. 8.25% is the declared EPF interest rate for FY 2025-26. Future rates can change, so the long-term corpus is a projection rather than a guaranteed maturity amount.
